The LAMA permit portal allows citizens and contractors to apply for permits, and schedule inspections. It also allows citizens and contractors to track and search for permits.
You can save travel and waiting time by filing for permits and licenses online and checking your application’s status any time of day or night. You can also pay permit fees online, and download and print your own building permits and other documents. If you need immediate action on a permit application, it may still be better to call or come in-person for guidance.

Once your application is approved you will be notified by email. When you view your application on the LAMA portal you will see a “Pay Fees” link on the same line as the “View”, “Print Summary”, and “Add to Watch List” links.

When you click on the “Pay Fees” link the fees will be added to your shopping cart, where you will be able to review them before submitting payment. You can pay for up to 10 fees at one time.

If your credit card’s billing address is different than the mailing address you used when you registered for the LAMA portal, please make sure to click the “Specify my billing address” button.

First, make sure to leave off city, state, zip code, and any apartment or suite number if your address has one. Only type in the house number and street name and hit Search. You’ll be able to enter an apartment/suite number on the next screen, and we don’t need the city, state, or zip code to locate the address.

If you’ve tried entering an address without an apartment/suite number, city, state, or zip code and still can’t find it, please call the Department of Community Development for assistance in determining what the legal address is for the location.

The convenience fee for credit card payments is 3.5% of the total permit fees. This is added to all credit card payments by the credit card processing vendor.
Once the application is approved and fees are paid, you can download your permit from the completed payment page. You can also find it again any time by finding the permit in Your Items and clicking the “Downloads” link beneath the permit header.
