You can look up a permit by the following:

• Address (street address only – no city, state, or zip code)
• Licensed contractor name
• License holder name
• Reference Code
• Permit Number

If you’d like to use Advanced Search, you’ll first have to be a registered user, and logged in. It’s free to register, and only takes a few minutes. If you click on Advanced Search, you’ll see many more options to search for permits. Among other things, you can search by key words from the application’s description, permit, and ranges of application dates. You can limit your search by using multiple criteria in Advanced Search as well.

You can export a data set of up to 200 records by choosing “All items” and “Export” from the drop-down boxes at the top of your search’s Results page, and clicking the Submit button.

Yes, the search results return the most up-to-date permitting data.

The exports files are in Comma Separated Values format (.csv), which can easily be opened by Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet software. Apache’s OpenOffice Calc program and Google Sheets can also open and edit .csv files.

If you are registered as a user and logged in, you can add items to your own Watch List in two ways:

• Add an individual item by clicking the “Add to Watch List” link under the permit/license/case heading you found when you searched.
• Add multiple items by clicking the checkbox next to the permit heading of each item you want to add and then selecting “Selected items” and “Add to watch list” in the dropdown boxes at the top of your search’s Results page, then clicking the Submit button.

Your Watch List will not send you email updates about selected items, but you can easily view your items every time you log in to the LAMA Permit Portal by using the Watch List.

There is no limit to the size of a project when you file an online application. Larger-scale projects may require more documentation, which you can upload with your application or send to your Plan Reviewer once you are assigned one.

Yes. You will receive an email when your permit application is approved. If we need more information before we can approve your permit application, our permit technicians or reviewers will contact you using the email address or phone number you provided when you registered as a LAMA portal user.

You can apply for as many individual permits as you want. You can view the summary of your current and past applications by using the “Your Items” button.

Yes, we are working on adding additional permit types to our online application website.

As soon as your application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging that we received your application. One of our permit technicians will review your application and if it is complete, he/she will process it. In some cases, permit technicians will need additional information and/or clarification regarding your application and will contact you. You will receive a notification email as soon as a decision has been made regarding your application.

All that’s left before your permit can be issued is payment. You can pay online using Visa, MasterCard, or Discover, or you can bring in cash, check or money order. As soon as your permit is paid, you’ll be able to download and print your permit document.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover via the LAMA Portal. You can also pay in person with cash, check or money order.

The convenience fee for credit card payments is 3.5% of the total permit fees. This is added to all credit card payments by the credit card processing vendor.

Once the application is approved and fees are paid, you can download your permit from the completed payment page. You can also find it again any time by finding the permit in Your Items and clicking the “Downloads” link beneath the permit header.
